April 4, 2024 at 6pm - 4th Conference of the I Cycle of Conferences of the new Postgraduate Course in Research and Security Against Disasters, Crises and Accidents at ISMT with the theme “Integral Security in High Speed Systems” with Ignacio Barrón de Angoiti, President of the Spanish Railway Accident Investigation Commission

The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga will promote on April 4, 2024 at 6 pm the 4th Conference of the 1st Cycle of Conferences of its new Postgraduate Course in Research and Security Against Catastrophes, Crises and Accidents, whose title is “Integral Security in Security Systems High speed".
The Guest Speaker is Ignacio Barrón de Angoiti, President of the Spanish Railway Accident Investigation Commission, international consultant in Railways and Transport and visiting professor at several Universities.

The opening of the Conference will feature Luís Marinho, President of ISMT, moderation will be by Noémia Salgado Cunha, Postgraduate Scientific Coordinator and comments will be made by Fernando Sousa, Postgraduate Professor in Cyberattacks.

Ignacio Barrón de Angoiti
Professor Barrón de Angoiti is currently President of the Spanish Railway Accident Investigation Commission, International Consultant in Railways and Transport and Visiting Professor at several Universities.
During his long career at the Spanish Railway Network (RENFE), he held numerous roles of high responsibility and prestige. Among others: Director of the Brussels Office, International Director, Director of Special Projects, Senior Consultant in the Business area for Latin America, Head of Technical Studies in the Communications Department and Project Manager in the Planning Department. At an international level he held high-profile positions. As at the International Union of Railways, in Paris, where he was: Director of the Passenger and High Speed Department, Coordinator of the Latin America Region, Director of High Speed and Measurement, Responsible for the High Speed Mission and Senior Consultant on High Speed Railways. He was awarded one of the most prestigious awards in the area, the Premio MAFEX Awards – International Railway Award.

Postgraduate in Investigation and Safety Against Catastrophes, Crises and Accidents
The new Postgraduate Course in Research and Safety Against Catastrophes, Crises and Accidents at Instituto Superior Miguel Torga provides future experts with the necessary scientific and technical knowledge and skills, supported by the best multidisciplinary and multi-institutional safety and research practices, which give them allow all safety and incident investigation procedures to be carried out effectively and adequately, such as those set out in the course presentation, visible on the ISMT website. To do this, it relies on experience and action, led by an excellent multidisciplinary teaching team, who will offer high-level teaching.
