On January 3, 2025, at 4:45 p.m., the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT) will host an open class as part of the Social Service, Justice and Social Reintegration curricular unit, aimed at 2nd year students of the Social Service degree, with the theme “Intervention in the Educational Center”, with the participation of Diamantino Santos.

About the Speaker
Diamantino José Figueiredo dos Santos is a clinical psychologist, specialist in clinical and health psychology, with advanced specialties in psychotherapy and psychology of justice. He holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC-UC) and has been consolidating a path of excellence in the area of social reintegration.
Since 2021, he has worked as a Senior Social Reintegration Technician and, since 2024, he has been part of the program team at the Centro Educativo dos Olivais, in Coimbra. In addition, he actively participates as a member of the expert group of the Directorate-General for Reintegration and Prison Services (DGRSP), with a focus on forensic assessment.

This open class offers a practical and specialized perspective on intervention in the context of educational centers, addressing strategies for social reintegration and psychosocial support for young people at risk, is an opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge of one of the fundamental pillars of Social Work practice, reinforcing the institution's role in linking higher education and professional practice.

The open class will take place in room 1 of ISMT's Polo B on Rua Bernardo de Albuquerque, no. 4, and is organized as part of the Justice and Social Reintegration Social Work curricular unit, under the guidance of lecturer Maria Rosa Tomé.
