The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga is joining, throughout the month of October, the international “Pink October” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer.

The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga is joining, throughout the month of October, the international “Pink October” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer.

The movement, which began in the United States in the 1990s, seeks to mobilise society in the fight against breast cancer, honouring women who face this disease, highlighting the importance of research, and sharing information and support for women and their families.

Throughout October, three key awareness dates are marked:

13 October – Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day
15 October – Breast Health Day
30 October – National Breast Cancer Prevention Day

By joining this initiative, ISMT seeks to contribute to raising awareness among the academic community and society at large, reinforcing the message that prevention can save lives.
