The President of the Board of ISMT addressed the expansion of facilities to the city centre and the cooperation models under analysis with the University of Coimbra.

The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) is expanding its facilities and will occupy two new buildings in Baixa de Coimbra starting in September. This move will bring hundreds of ISMT students to the city centre, with the aim of contributing to the boosting and revitalization of this urban area throughout the day.

During EXPOFACIC, in an interview with Notícias de Coimbra, the President of the Board of ISMT, Manuel Castelo Branco, discussed the institution's future plans, including its relationship with the University of Coimbra (UC). He clarified that, at present, there is no legal integration between the two institutions, although the scenario is being analysed within the framework of bilateral discussions.

Manuel Castelo Branco explained that various forms of cooperation are being considered, ranging from consortiums to possible future integration, with a preference for a gradual collaboration model. The President of the Board of ISMT stated that the University "is our first option, but not the only partner", reiterating the focus on strengthening the institution's presence and activity, bringing the academy even closer to the city.
