On December 10, 2024, the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT) paid a visit to the Coimbra Higher Institute of Engineering (ISEC), marking a significant moment of dialogue and rapprochement between the two higher education institutions. The ISMT delegation was made up of the President, Manuel Castelo Branco, the Vice-President Dulce Simões and the secretary of the Board of Directors, Isa Magalhães.

The delegation was welcomed by ISEC's President, Mário Velindro, who led the visit and took part in a meeting where topics related to higher education were discussed, including the exploration of possible partnerships in areas such as technology and other areas of common interest.

After the meeting, the ISMT delegation was taken on a guided tour of the laboratories on the ISEC campus, allowing direct contact with its infrastructures and with innovative projects under development, especially in the field of digital technology. This experience allowed ISMT representatives to take a closer look at what's new in this area and reinforced opportunities for future co-operation.

This initiative is part of ISMT's strategy to strengthen its presence in the Centre Region by promoting a solid and comprehensive network of collaborations with higher education institutions and other strategic entities. By forging closer ties with regional partners such as ISEC, ISMT seeks not only to share resources and competences, but also to foster joint innovation in areas such as technology, advanced training and applied research.
