The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga will host a seminar titled "When the child's time is not the adult's time" on 14 May. The session will take place at 10:00 am in Room 1 of the building located at Rua Gomes Freire, 4, in Coimbra.

The initiative features Verónica Marques, a social worker and President of the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People (CPCJ) in Leiria. The session focuses on the analysis of temporal dynamics in child development and how these differ from the expectations and rhythms of the adult world, a central theme for contemporary social work practice.

The event is organised by Manuel Menezes, a lecturer of the Social Work, Childhood and Youth unit of the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. The seminar aims to provide students and the community with a practical and institutional perspective on the protection of minors, linking the curriculum with the professional experience of those managing protection structures in Portugal.
