On 16 December at 5.30pm, an open class will be held at the Seminário Maior as part of the Strategic Management course of the 1st cycle in Human Resources Management, Management and Entrepreneurship, organised by Professor Célia Santos.

Under the theme ‘Strategy and Leadership - You don't have to stop to be overtaken. You just have to keep going at the same speed.’ The session will feature Mário Barreiros, a speaker with vast experience in leadership and strategic management, accompanied by a special guest.

About the speaker
Mário Barreiros, with a background in Mechanical Engineering, has over 32 years' experience in the Automotive industry, holding management, director and general manager positions in national and international contexts. A two-time national champion in sabre fencing, a sport that highlights his tactical skills, his professional career has been characterised by the application of values acquired during his training at the Instituto Militar dos Pupilos do Exército, based on the motto ‘Want is Power’.

Recognised for his strategic vision, Mário Barreiros has led organisational transformation projects with the support of renowned consultancies such as McKinsey & Company and Accenture. He is currently Industrial Director at Iber-Oleff, where he manages a multidisciplinary team of more than 400 people, playing a central role in the implementation of a strategic decarbonisation plan aligned with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Throughout his career, he has continually invested in training to face the challenges of the present with innovative approaches. Among the training programmes are methodologies such as LEAN Manufacturing, TPM, SMED, and areas such as Ethics and Social Responsibility and ESG Business Management.
