Lecturer Manuel Menezes represents the Instituto Superior Miguel Torga on the panel dedicated to the challenges of adolescent mental health, as part of the 15th edition of the Citizenship Conference
The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) will be represented at the XV Citizenship Conference, an event promoted in the municipality of Moimenta da Beira, through the participation of lecturer Manuel Menezes. The initiative takes place on the 29th and 30th of May, at the Auditório das Caves Terras do Demo, with the aim of promoting reflection and dialogue on a set of issues of extreme relevance to contemporary society.
The ISMT lecturer's intervention is scheduled for the 30th of May, as part of the programme's 3rd Panel, entitled "Mental Health in Adolescence: Challenges". The work in this section will begin at 11:45 am with the presentation of the "Fewer Screens, More Life" movement by Catarina Prado e Castro, a civic initiative driven by parents and educators to warn of the impacts of the excessive use of digital media in younger age groups. This will be followed, at 12:30 pm, by the debate session, which will be moderated by lecturer Manuel Menezes, who will lead the discussion around this crucial topic for families and the educational community.
The Citizenship Conference, throughout its two days of programming, also includes debate and the sharing of ideas around areas such as active ageing and the prevention of domestic and dating violence. The closing session of the event will take place at 1:00 pm, led by Hugo Bondoso, Councillor for Education, Migrations, Citizenship and Equality of the Moimenta da Beira Town Council. Participation is open to interested parties, subject to prior registration via the electronic form provided by the organisation (https://app.youform.com/forms/acadk95k).
