ISMT visited the Municipality of Condeixa

On December 9, 2024, a delegation from the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT), led by its President, Manuel Castelo Branco, visited the Municipality of Condeixa. The initiative is part of the strategic objective of strengthening relations with the 19 municipalities that make up the Coimbra Region Intermunicipal Community (CIM-RC).

The ISMT delegation included Vice-Presidents Dulce Simões and Humberto Oliveira, the Secretary of the Board of Directors, Isa Magalhães, and Mariana Alegre, a Management student and Treasurer of the ISMT Students' Association, originally from Condeixa.

Meeting with the Municipal Executive
The official reception took place in the Great Hall of Condeixa Town Hall and was attended by the Mayor, Nuno Moita, and Councillor Carlos Canais. At this first moment, the importance of the cooperation protocol signed between the two institutions was highlighted. The agreement aims to promote joint projects in areas such as research, the provision of services and the promotion of ISMT's training offer to the local community.

Among the main benefits of the agreement is a 20% reduction in the annual cost of non-degree courses (postgraduate and short courses) for local authority employees, encouraging continuous training.

Meeting with Local Entities
The meeting continued in the auditorium of PO.RO.S - Museu Portugal Romano in Sicó, where the ISMT delegation met with representatives of various local organizations. This moment was marked by a fruitful dialog about the territory's potential and areas for collaboration. The participants included:

Parents' Association of the Condeixa School Group: Andrea Cravo and Ana Margarida Vicente;
União de Freguesias de Sebal e Belide: President Raúl Oliveira;
Vila Seca and Bendafé Parish Council: President Jorge Almeida;
Ega Parish Council: President Rodolfo Silva;
Associação Oficina de Teatro de Condeixa: Diana Lima and Marli Silva;
Dojo Shobu Practitioners Club: Ricardo Faustino;
Clube Desportivo Recreativo e Cultural do Sobreiro: António Monteiro;
Condeixa Municipality: Councillor Ana Manaia and technicians Sofia Correia and Ana Belo Malo.

The representatives of these organizations showed great interest in establishing partnerships with ISMT, recognizing the potential for synergies that promote local development and the strengthening of the academic community.
