The new service aims to guarantee ISMT students the necessary support and guidance to promote their well-being and academic success.

The Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT) announces the opening of the Social Action Office (GAS). This new service arises from the ongoing need to guarantee ISMT students the necessary support and guidance throughout their higher education journey. The project consists of a structure with observation, intervention, and coordination functions, prepared to identify early situations of social, economic, psychological, or academic vulnerability.

Through an integrated and multidisciplinary approach, the office ensures the articulation between internal services and external partner entities, enhancing effective and tailored responses to needs. At the same time, the GAS plays a role in defining and implementing internal social policies, promoting institutional practices oriented towards inclusion, equal opportunities, and the cohesion of the entire student community.

As part of this structure, the Student Support Office offers individual assistance, providing a space for listening and guidance. This service is intended for students who wish to obtain information about available resources, clarify doubts, or share situations that affect their academic path, with strict respect for privacy and confidentiality. Appointments should be scheduled via email at gas@ismt.pt, indicating your name, student number, and availability.

The office also provides guidance on the range of scholarships and incentives currently available. This office is coordinated by Social Worker Marta Fonseca, with Cristina Girão also managing and monitoring the scholarships from the Institute for Higher Education (IES).
