Professor Vasco Almeida, a lecturer at the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT), was invited by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC) to teach a class as part of the PhD Programme in Governance, Knowledge and Innovation.
Professor Vasco Almeida, a lecturer at the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT), was invited by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra (FEUC) to teach a class as part of the PhD Programme in Governance, Knowledge and Innovation.
The session, which took place on 22 November 2024, was entitled ‘Governance and the Third Sector: Private Solidarity Institutions’. During the class, issues related to the role of Private Solidarity Institutions in the context of governance were debated, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by this sector, both nationally and internationally.
The invitation to Professor Vasco Almeida highlights not only the relevance of his academic contributions to the study of the Third Sector, but also ISMT's growing openness to society and higher education institutions. This position strengthens ISMT's links with organisations in the city and the region, while consolidating its presence on the national and international scene.
