The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga makes available the latest issue of its open-access publication, gathering multidisciplinary contributions in the fields of Social, Human, and Health Sciences.
The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) published, on the 30th of June 2026, Issue No. 50 of the scientific journal "Interações. Sociedade e as Novas Modernidades". This bi-annual, open-access publication is dedicated to the dissemination of scientific research and academic reflection in the field of Social and Human Sciences. The new issue brings together studies developed in distinct geographical and institutional contexts, with a particular focus on Portugal and Brazil.
The edition features articles of empirical and theoretical research covering multiple domains. The topics addressed include parenting and its relationship with well-being and stress, the social mobility of technical education graduates, public policies for the reintegration of youth subject to educational tutelary measures, envy in the workplace, and the dynamics of friendship and work engagement. The publication concludes the article section with a psychoanalytically oriented literary analysis of Edgar Allan Poe's short story "Ligeia", followed by a critical review of a book on uncertainty.
"Interações. Sociedade e as Novas Modernidades" adopts a diamond open-access policy, charging no fees to authors or readers. The editorial team is directed by the lecturer Vasco Almeida and includes an Editorial Board composed of lecturers Fátima Ney Matos, Fernanda Daniel, Henrique Vicente, and Maria João Barata. The journal provides a space for scientific debate aimed at national and international researchers, as well as the student community.
