A team of ISMT faculty members publishes international research dedicated to the validation of the AIAS-4-PT scale.
Instituto Superior Miguel Torga announces the publication of a new scientific study in the international journal Journal of Technology in Behavioral Science, authored by a team of faculty members from the institution. The research was developed by researchers Ilda Massano-Cardoso, Filipa Bento-Nogueira, Sofia de Carvalho Figueiredo, and Ana Galhardo, focusing on understanding the relationship between attitudes towards artificial intelligence, trust in human-technology interaction, and psychological flexibility.
One of the main scientific contributions of this work was the validation of the European Portuguese version of the Artificial Intelligence Attitude Scale (AIAS-4-PT). This instrument consists of four items, allowing for a quick and reliable assessment of individuals' attitudes towards artificial intelligence. Making this instrument available constitutes a valuable resource for scientific research in Portugal, facilitating the analysis of different population groups' perceptions and the identification of factors associated with technological acceptance.
At a time when artificial intelligence plays a prominent role in sectors such as education, health, and economy, analyzing these dynamics is essential to support digital literacy strategies and the responsible integration of technology into society. The article, titled “The European Portuguese version of the Artificial Intelligence Attitude Scale (AIAS-4): Psychometric properties in a sample of young adults”, is available online under the DOI reference: 10.1007/s41347-026-00728-x.
