Instituto Superior Miguel Torga launched this cycle at the Arganil Business and Technological Centre, focusing on public ethics and governance
Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT), through its Coimbra School, launched the Roadshow "The State and the Fight Against Corruption", part of the "Fora de Portas" initiative. The first session took place at the Arganil Business and Technological Centre, in a partnership with the local Municipality, marking the start of a short course designed to tour the 19 municipalities of the Coimbra Metropolitan Region.
The opening session featured speeches by Manuel Castelo Branco, President of the ISMT Board of Directors, and Luís Paulo Costa, Mayor of Arganil, who highlighted the impact of having ISMT present across the region providing local support. The Mayor thanked the institution's initiative to move beyond its usual space, emphasising the relevance of having the Higher Institute of all 19 municipalities working as a network and close to the local reality. Also in attendance were Elisabete Simões Oliveira, Councillor for Social Action, Human Resources, Youth and Associations, Sara Lopes Borges, Coordinator of the ISMT Coimbra School, Isa Magalhães, Secretary of the ISMT Board of Directors, and Filipe Preces, Public Prosecution Inspector and ISMT trainer, who led the seminar.
With the Torga RoadShow programme, ISMT reinforces its strategy of territorial proximity. The initiative aims to promote the continuous training of the community and foster debate on transparency mechanisms in public administration, empowering citizens and local agents with critical analysis tools.
