On 28 November, at 10am, the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT) will host an open lecture on ‘Social Action in Social Security: Intervention and the Challenges of Transferring Competences’.

On 28 November, at 10am, the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT) will host an open lecture on ‘Social Action in Social Security: Intervention and the Challenges of Transferring Competences’.

The event will feature the participation of Hélder Santos, social worker and director of the Social Development Unit of the Aveiro District Centre of the Social Security Institute (ISS, I.P.).

With vast experience in the field, Hélder Santos has held prominent positions in the ISS, as well as in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, in the private sector and in higher education, where he was a lecturer on the Social Work Degree.

This initiative is organised as part of the Social Service, Social Security and Local Government course of the Social Work degree, coordinated by Manuel Menezes, and will take place at Rua Bernardo Albuquerque, no. 4, in Coimbra.

Open to the academic community and the general public, this open class is an opportunity to deepen knowledge about the challenges and dynamics of social action in the context of the transfer of competences.
