ISMT Lecturers Participate in International Congress on Human Rights in Salamanca

The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) had a significant presence at the VIII International Congress "Derechos Humanos y Políticas Públicas", which took place on October 23rd and 24th at the University of Salamanca, Spain. Lecturers Rosa Tomé and Manuel Menezes represented ISMT at this important forum, reinforcing the institution's commitment to excellence in research and social intervention.

The event, organised by CIDH-Diversitas and the Francisco de Vitoria Human Rights Chair, provided an academic and human space dedicated to reflecting on the great challenges of our time. The central theme, "Human Rights and Public Policies," challenged academics and professionals from various fields – such as law, criminology, psychology, and sociology – to analyse and propose solutions that ensure the full validity of fundamental rights, especially in contexts of fragility and inequality. The participation of lecturers Tomé and Menezes underscores the interdisciplinary approach and ISMT’s position at the forefront of the debate on vulnerability and the pursuit of justice.

Over the years, ISMT has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting an inclusive and transformative human rights culture. The active presence at international congresses of this relevance decisively contributes to enriching the debate, sharing knowledge, and creating innovative and equitable solutions.
