Founded in 1937 in Coimbra as the Normal Social School “A Saúde”, the ISMT was one of the first Portuguese institutions to offer training in Social Work and is today heir to this pioneering tradition.

The ceremony brought together a number of prominent personalities in the field of Social Work, celebrating not only the start of a new cycle for professionals in this sector, but also the achievement of a status that reinforces the importance of the work of social workers in Portuguese society.
