Workshop “The fanzine in the panorama of free editorial design”

Short Courses
This training course, in the form of a lecture and workshop, will cover the subject of free editorial design and independent publishing, with a special focus on fanzines.
There is a consensus that the practices and languages of traditional editorial design are well known. Other less conventional graphic languages are not as widely researched and disseminated.
This action aims to help bridge this gap, favoring a more experimental graphic practice and a more alternative editorial design.
Free editorial design encompasses many different forms of artistic and cultural expression. It is fertile ground for experimentation and for testing different methodological and creative practices that often evolve into other languages (or new languages) that are later stabilized and commonly recognized.
recognized. It is considered, above all, a space of creative freedom, without protocols and a point of convergence of multiple languages and artistic expressions such as illustration, photography, literature, architecture or drawing.
The aim of this training is to provide trainees with greater knowledge in the area of experimental editorial design, particularly in the world of Independent Publications.
The aim is to focus on a process of analysis and reflection, experimentation and the creation, editing and production of graphic objects. Encouraging creative freedom and the importance of process, recovering analogue resources in the digital age and the physicality of the object in the age of dematerialization.
All this by exploring content, practices and dynamics that can be
transported to the trainees' academic and professional practice.
