On 6 December at 4.30pm, the Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) will host an open lecture entitled ‘Support for victims of crime’, led by Natália Cardoso, a reference in the field of assistance to victims of crime in Portugal.

The speaker, who has a degree in Law and in Theatre and Education, began her career at APAV - Associação Portuguesa de Apoio à Vítima as a volunteer in 1994. Since 1997, she has been the manager of the Coimbra Victim Support Office, playing a central role in supporting and counselling people in vulnerable situations.

The open class will take place in room 1 of ISMT's Polo B in Rua Bernardo de Albuquerque, nº4, and is organised as part of the Social Work Justice and Social Reintegration curricular unit, under the guidance of lecturer Maria Rosa Tomé.

This initiative is an opportunity for students and the academic community to reflect on the challenges of supporting victims of crime, exploring the practices and approaches used to reintegrate and protect these people.

With this open class, ISMT reaffirms its commitment to promoting the discussion of fundamental themes for social and human development, providing learning moments that link theory to professional practice.
