The event will address legal aspects and practical testimonies regarding succession and management within the context of family businesses.
The Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT), in partnership with the Serra da Lousã Business Association (AESL), will hold the conference "Family Businesses: Deconstructing the Myth" on 22 April. The event will take place at the Dr. Louzã Henriques Ethnographic Museum and aims to analyse the particularities and challenges inherent to this business model, which represents a significant portion of the national business landscape.
The morning session will be dedicated to technical analysis, featuring contributions from lecturers Daniela Sequeira and Eulália Dias Cravo. Under the theme "Current legal aspects of family businesses", the speakers will present an updated perspective on the existing legal framework, addressing fundamental issues for the stability and continuity of these organisations.
In the afternoon, the programme focuses on sharing experiences through a discussion panel moderated by Luís Parreirão. The session will include representatives from leading companies, namely Ana Grade (Fresbeira), José Aniceto and Catarina Aniceto (José Aniceto e Irmão, Lda), and J. Carranca Redondo (Casa Redondo), who will discuss the practical realities of management and succession in a family context.
