The event brought together specialists, faculty members, and representatives from social organisations to discuss the findings of research that focuses on children's perspectives within the current socio-economic context.

The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) held, on 12 December, at Polo E, a presentation session for the study entitled "Family experiences during the cost-of-living crisis - Children's perspectives on the impacts on well-being". The event brought together specialists, faculty members, and representatives from social organisations to discuss the findings of research that focuses on children's perspectives within the current socio-economic context.

The opening session included contributions from Humberto Oliveira, Vice-President of the ISMT Board of Directors, and faculty member Rosa Tomé, Coordinator of the Degree in Social Work. During the welcome address, the institution's commitment to analysing emerging social issues was reaffirmed, along with the importance of promoting spaces for dialogue between academia and entities working directly in the field.

The theoretical and institutional framework was shared by Maria José Vicente, National Coordinator of EAPN Portugal, and Paula Duarte, Coordinator of the Coimbra Hub of the Institute for Child Support (IAC). The main presentation of the results was led by faculty member Manuel Menezes, the study's coordinator, followed by an in-depth analysis by faculty member Manuel Sarmento. The final debate allowed for the crossing of research data with child support practices, reinforcing ISMT's role in producing relevant scientific knowledge for the community.
