Description

The current Journalism syllabus aims to teach students the practice of journalism, alerting to the ethical and deontological issues that arise in the exercise of this activity of enormous public expression. In this sense, teaching to know how to think and reflect on issues involving the media, its production and reception based on sociological, semiotic, anthropological and cultural theories that inform journalism and news, not neglecting their different genres and supports, are the main lines that aimed at defining this study plan.

Journalism subjects (written, radio, television and digital) allow us to simulate the forms of expression and productive routines characteristic of each media, in a technological environment created in our facilities for this purpose. As a result, the present curricular structure combines, in an integrated plan, the study of the fundamentals of communication and journalism, structuring knowledge of the Social and Human Sciences and training in the different practical modalities of journalism in terms of their specific languages and techniques, giving students the possibility of choosing optional pathways according to their vocations and future professional prospects. The curricular internship will be the culmination of this learning experience with companies in the area, national and local, partners of the course.

This degree in Journalism assures students the acquisition of skills and knowledge necessary to carry out specific activities that are consistent with different professional profiles.

At the end of the course, graduates will be able to practice the profession or progress their studies to 2nd cycle courses, if they choose a researcher career.
