On December 16, 2024, the 3rd year Multimedia students at Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) took part in a technical visit to the São Francisco Convent in Coimbra. The initiative was organized by lecturer Luís Pato, as part of the Sound Workshop curricular unit, and aimed to provide students with an enriching practical experience.
On December 16, 2024, the 3rd year Multimedia students at Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT) took part in a technical visit to the São Francisco Convent in Coimbra. The initiative was organized by lecturer Luís Pato, as part of the Sound Workshop curricular unit, and aimed to provide students with an enriching practical experience.
During the visit, the students were accompanied by the Technical Coordinator of Convento São Francisco, Dr. José Meneses, who guided the group through the facilities, sharing his technical and cultural knowledge of this emblematic space in the city of Coimbra.
The Convento São Francisco, managed by the Coimbra City Council (CMC), is a reference point as a cultural center and multipurpose space. This visit gave the students a better understanding of the technical and creative challenges involved in sound management and audiovisual production in multifunctional environments such as the auditorium and other areas of the convent.
The initiative is part of ISMT's pedagogical strategy, which values the practical application of the knowledge acquired in the classroom, promoting direct contact between students and the professional context of their training areas.
This experience proved to be a unique learning opportunity, reinforcing the link between academic teaching and professional practice, and underlining ISMT's commitment to training excellence in the areas of Multimedia and the Arts.
