On 13 December, the 2nd year students of the Social Work degree course at the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT) visited the Coimbra Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Centre, part of the Coimbra Cerebral Palsy Association (APCC).

The initiative took place as part of the Social Work, Health and Rehabilitation curricular unit, led by teachers Sónia Ribeiro and Élia Costa, the latter of whom is also a social worker at the organisation. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to learn more about the work carried out in the area of health and rehabilitation, particularly in the support given to people with cerebral palsy.

As well as exploring the practical dynamics of the social worker's intervention in rehabilitation, the students interacted with other professionals from APCC's multidisciplinary team and with the institution's users, enriching their training through direct contact with the reality of the professional field.

This activity reinforces ISMT's commitment to providing its students with meaningful learning experiences that complement the theoretical component with practices that bring students closer to social reality.
