ISMT participates in the VizeLER 2025 Literary Meeting

The Miguel Torga Superior Institute (ISMT) was present at the VizeLER Literary Meeting, a cultural initiative promoted by the Vizela Municipal Council, based on a proposal and organisation by Helder Guimarães. The event, which took place from the 16th to the 19th of October 2025, aimed to mark the bicentenary of the birth of Camilo Castelo Branco.

ISMT was represented by the lecturer Maria de Fátima Toscano, from the Portuguese Language Workshop curricular unit of the Journalism degree. The lecturer took part in the panel discussion themed "Writing and the abyss: literature as a fight against the unbearable", which took place at the Francisco Ferreira Municipal Auditorium on the 18th of October, between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The debate session featured a panel of participants, including Rui Sobral, Sílvia Mota Lopes, and Rui Guedes, who, alongside the lecturer Maria de Fátima Toscano, explored the connections between the act of writing and overcoming adversity. The session was moderated by Ana Catarina Aidos and also included Portuguese Sign Language interpretation by Diogo Rodrigues. The participation of the ISMT lecturer in this event reinforces the institution's commitment to culture, journalism, and critical reflection.
