ISMT promotes a series of Road Shows in the Coimbra Region on Public Procurement, Corruption, and Media Literacy

The Coimbra School of the Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT) is set to promote a cycle of Road Shows across the Coimbra Region, focusing on strategic themes for institutional development, governance quality, and civic empowerment. Through three complementary initiatives, the institution mobilises specialised knowledge for the territory, covering fundamental areas for administrative transparency and the exercise of contemporary citizenship.

The road shows titled “Critical Aspects of Public Procurement”, led by lecturer Daniela Sequeira, and “The State and Corruption”, facilitated by lecturer Filipe Preces, are specifically aimed at the local government authorities of the 19 municipalities in the Coimbra Region. These sessions aim to contribute to qualification in sensitive areas that demand rigour and legal compliance, seeking to strengthen essential skills for decision-making, risk prevention, and the improvement of practices in local public administration.

In parallel, the “Media Literacy” road show, with lecturer Sérgio S. Soares, is intended for school groups within the Coimbra Region. This initiative responds to the growing need for training in critical citizenship within an informational ecosystem marked by misinformation and the accelerated consumption of digital content. The core objective is to support the educational community in developing information analysis and verification skills among the younger generations.

With this cycle of events, ISMT reaffirms its commitment to the Coimbra Region, acting as a driver for ongoing training for different audiences and generations. The initiative highlights the institution's role in producing and sharing knowledge with a direct impact on the development and public responsibility of the territory.
