Title
Journalist Paulo Marques analyses the role of journalism in shaping contemporary social perception in an event open to the academic community.
The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga will host, on 24 March, a lecture dedicated to the analysis of news production processes. The event, titled "News production as a process of social construction of reality", will take place in Room 1 at Rua Gomes Freire, starting at 14:00.
The session features a presentation by Paulo Marques, a journalist from Diário As Beiras, who will share his professional experience on how editorial criteria and production routines influence the representation of facts. The discussion will focus on the responsibility of journalism as a mediator between events and public interpretation.
This initiative is organised by the Media Representations curricular unit of the Degree in Journalism at ISMT, coordinated by teachers Manuel Menezes and Dina Margato. The event reinforces the institution's commitment to bridging the gap between the academic environment and the professional practices of the communication sector.
