Lecture: A New Paradigm for the Protection System

The Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT), through its Research and Investigation Unit (NEI) and within the scope of the Master's in Social Work, is organising a lecture on April 24th, at 2:00 PM, entitled "A New Paradigm for the Protection System". The event will take place in a hybrid format, held at the institution's facilities at Rua Bernardo Albuquerque, 4, with a simultaneous broadcast via the Zoom platform.

The session will feature a presentation by Rui Godinho, psychologist and Director of the Child and Youth Department at Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa. The initiative proposes a technical and institutional analysis of current dynamics and emerging challenges in protection policies, focusing on the transition towards new intervention models for vulnerable populations.

The organisation of this event is led by docente Manuel Menezes, reinforcing ISMT’s commitment to the scientific and professional development of its students and the wider community. Participation in this session allows for direct contact with practical management and leadership contexts in reference social services, promoting a critical debate on the protection system in Portugal.
