Cooperation Protocol between ISMT, ESN Coimbra and AEISMT

On 23 October 2025, the Instituto Superior Miguel Torga (ISMT), the Erasmus Student Network Coimbra (ESN Coimbra) and the ISMT Students’ Union (AEISMT) signed a Cooperation Protocol reinforcing their joint commitment to integration, diversity and multicultural inclusion in higher education.

The agreement establishes a strategic partnership between the three institutions to promote integrative initiatives within the academic community, foster the inclusion of international students, and strengthen ISMT’s connection with the European Erasmus Student Network.

The protocol was signed by Humberto Oliveira, Vice-President of ISMT’s Board; Rui Morais, President of AEISMT; and Nuno Pereira, President of ESN Coimbra.
Also present were Dulce Simões (Vice-President of the Board), Miguel Fonseca (Board Member), Gonçalo Batista and Gabriela Moderno (AEISMT), as well as Matilde Mendes and Filipa Silva (ESN Coimbra).

Under this protocol, ISMT and AEISMT will promote and support projects developed by ESN Coimbra, such as the Buddy Programme, Christmas with Portuguese Families and Survival Guides. In turn, ESN Coimbra will actively collaborate in the integration of ISMT’s international students and involve both entities in its institutional and volunteering activities.

According to Humberto Oliveira, Vice-President of ISMT’s Board, “this collaboration reinforces ISMT’s mission as an institution that values interculturality, solidarity and hospitality, building bridges between students from different backgrounds and fostering a truly European and academic spirit.”

This partnership aims to enrich students’ academic and human experience, contributing to a more inclusive, supportive and multicultural university environment.
