Luso-Brazilian International Seminar on Social Work
31 October 2025 | 11:00 – 18:30 (GMT+1)
Casa Municipal da Cultura, Coimbra | hybrid format

The Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT), in collaboration with the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the Research and Extension Group on Social Work and Social Policy in the Amazon (GEPSS), will host the Luso-Brazilian International Seminar on Social Work on 31 October 2025, at the Casa Municipal da Cultura in Coimbra, from 11:00 to 18:30, with online transmission.

This seminar is part of a broader research initiative addressing the neoliberal influences on the education and professional practice of social workers in both Portugal and Brazil. Despite the socio-historical differences between the two contexts, the study identifies similar adverse effects on the academic and professional dimensions of Social Work.

The event is supported by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the Institute of Applied Social Sciences (ICSA), and the Postgraduate Programme in Social Work (PPGSS).

Participation is free of charge, includes a certificate of attendance, and requires prior registration at: https://www.even3.com.br/seminario-internacional-lusobrasileiro-de-servico-social-coimbraportugal-hibrido-servico-social-em-contextos-neoliberais-dialogos-sobre-a-formacao-e-o-trabalho-dosas-assistentes-sociais-em-portugal-e-brasil-638205/
