ISMT and APPDA Coimbra host session on Autism Spectrum Disorder

The Miguel Torga Higher Institute (ISMT) and APPDA Coimbra will hold the second session of the "VAMOS FALAR DE..." (LET’S TALK ABOUT...) debate cycle on 28 April at 17:00. The meeting will take place in Room 2 of the Building at Rua Gomes Freire, no. 2, and will be dedicated to the theme "Autism Spectrum Disorder", bringing together different perspectives on the diagnosis and support of individuals with this condition.

The session will feature lecturer Mariana Monteiro, a Master’s student in Clinical Psychology at ISMT, who will present "Autism in practice: Assessment, intervention, and challenges". The institutional and practical perspective on inclusion will be addressed by lecturer Tânia Morais, a psychologist at APPDA Coimbra, with the theme "Understanding to include", and by lecturer Miguel Castelo Branco, a board member of the same association, who will discuss "How to transform challenges into opportunities".

This initiative reinforces ISMT’s commitment to sharing scientific and social knowledge, providing a space for reflection for students, health and education professionals, and the general community. Entry is free, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of strategies that promote a more inclusive and informed society regarding the specificities of autism.
